2010 Business Mission
The AGC’s inaugural Business Mission took place from 5-12 December 2010 led by Hon Bob Hawke AC and Hon Peter Costello AC to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The delegation was comprised of 15 senior executives from Australian companies.
The Business Mission was endorsed by Dennis Richardson AO, Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Grey, Chief Executive Office, Austrade and 15 Australian corporate leaders.
The Business Mission:
- Exposed delegates to corporate, government and investment representatives that were reflective of the participants’ own interests and priorities
- Encouraged greater commercial links, supporting an increase in the two way flow of capital
- Represented Australia at peak level through the leadership of Hon Bob Hawke AC and the Hon Peter Costello AC
- Encouraged long term dialogue between corporate, government and investment representatives
- Promoted the work of the AGC and its sponsors at all events and meetings
