2012 Business Mission

25 February – 1 March 2012

The AGC will hold a  Business Mission to the Gulf region  from 25 February – 1 March 2012, which will:

  • Facilitate greater two-way trade and investment by bringing senior corporate, government and diplomatic representatives together
  • Identify and define common Australia-GCC areas for collaboration and development (i.e. double taxation, visa issues, Free Trade Agreement, foreign investment, food security, live meat trade)
  • Encourage in-bound delegations from Gulf States
  • Develop stronger and sustained interest from the Australian Government and wider corporate and political communities about Australia-Gulf relations

The Business Mission will be led by Hon Mark Vaile, Deputy Prime Minister of Australia (2005-2007). The Delegation will be comprised of senior Australian corporate leaders. Expressions of Interest are currently being called for and processed. The Delegation will be announced at the end of January 2012.
