The AGC hosted a dinner in honour of the Qatar Business Delegation visiting Australia on Wednesday 8 June 2011 at Parliament House, Sydney. The AGC was delighted that Hon Duncan Gay MLC, NSW Minister for Roads and Ports hosted the evening and The GPT Group, one of Australia’s largest diversified property groups, was event partner. Michael Cameron, CEO and Managing Director of The GPT Property Group opened the function.
The Qatar Business Delegation was led by members of the Qatar Ministry of Business and Trade and supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Austrade. Significantly, the AGC recognises Naser Jarallah Al Marri from the Qatar Ministry of Business and Trade who was integral to the planning and development of the mission to Australia.
Distinguished guests included Hon Bob Hawke AC, Professor Philip Cox AO, Mr Ron Cullen, Mr Byrce Graham, Mr Jonathan Johnstone, Mr Ross Hitt, Mr Robert Maple-Brown AO, Hon John Sharp, Mr Richard Sheppard, Mr Warwick Smith AM, Mr James Tucker and Hon Mark Vaile.
